Abuja - Parts of the National Secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party located in Wadata Plaza, Wuse Zone 5, Abuja, were affected by fire that occurred at about 8.15 p.m.
According to the statement signed by the party's National Publicity Secretary Olisa Metuh, the fire was caused by some electrical faults. It was promptly put off by firefighters and did not cause any significant damage to the Press Center where it started.
The PDP have ruled out any form of sabotage or attack and assured that the matter had been put under control.
The development comes just few hours after the PDP blamed their political rivals, the All Progressives Congress, for the bomb explosion that shook Abuja on Monday, taking lives of more than 70 persons and
injuring hundreds.
