PDP CRISIS: Court dismisses Baraje-faction’s suit against Tukur, others

A Lagos High Court in Ikeja on Thursday dismissed the suit filed by the Alhaji Kawu Baraje-led faction of the Peoples Democratic Party, seeking the court to restrain the National Chairman of the party, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, and others from further parading themselves as officials of the party.
Delivering ruling on the preliminary objection filed by the respondents, Justice Oludotun Adefope-Okojie held that the court lacked jurisdiction to hear the matter.

A tanker exploded in the early hours of Tuesday, October 8 2013 at a gas plant in the Lekki area of Lagos, according to reports.
According to reports, the fire outbreak was reportedly started by suspected vandals at about 5 a.m who were at the plant located around a residential estate at Sangotedo, along Ajah road,Lagos.

80 Years Old Solomon Lar Is Dead

The Plateau state government has announced the death of Chief Solomon Lar, the first civilian governor of the state.
Chief Lar died at the age of 80 in a U.S. hospital, after a protracted illness. The Plateau state governor, Jonah Jang, announced his death on Wednesday in Jos.
“He died at about 3.00 a.m. American time (about 9.00 a.m. Nigerian time),” the governor told reporters on Wednesday evening.
He was the first chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
